Ron Marshall
Ron Marshall, born in San Francisco, attended
San Mateo College, San Francisco City College,
and San Jose College majoring in Engineering
and Math. While pursuing his academic goals
he worked as a journeyman/master carpenter
for five years and was a member of Carpenter's
Local Union 29 for over 16 years.
In 1977, Ron held the position of Project
Superintendent for Cal Acoustics, directing
interior design projects in high rise and residential
construction. Moving to Wichita Falls, Texas in
1978, he accepted the title of Chief Estimator
and Designer for John Moore Homes. With this
rank, Ron worked on new construction, and remodeling residential and
commercial build out projects. He was part of a rebuilding team
after a tornado
hit the city in April of 1979, destroying over 28,000 homes. This
was an extensive
planning and zoning process.
Ron returned to California in 1980 and obtained a California
Contractor's
License. His projects included road drainage systems
(infrastructure), residential
and commercial renovation and maintainenance of planning and zoning
compliances.
After three years of contracting, Ron established a general
contracting company
named Home Hero Inc. This endeavor involved computer design of
custom
homes, single and multi family residential development, commercial
remodeling and steel frame construction. He worked closely with
planning and
zoning, consultations and home and building inspections. In 1989 he
was
involved in another rebuilding project after the San Francisco Bay
Area
earthquake.
In 1991 he migrated to Georgia to build a home in Americus . Two
years
later he added Construction Management and Land Development and
changed
Home Hero Inc.'s name to RGM Management & Development. Ron once
again
assisted in a rebuilding project after the 1994 flood in Albany
Georgia.
As Chairman of the Board for 'Heirs Orbiting Community Development
Corporation USA, Inc.' (Heirs Orbiting CDC USA, Inc.), a 501c(3) HUD
& Fannie
Mae certified non-profit organization he founded with the purpose to
educate and
facilitate homeownership, Ron works with the NAACP and DeKalb County
on
Community Development. For a span of 12 years he has been involved
with
home buyer seminars and workshops sponsored by the NAACP, Bank of
America, Home Banc, CCCS, HBAF, Atlanta Center for Homeownership,
Gwinnett Housing Resource Partnership, Metro Fair Housing, and the
Urban
League.
Ron is also Chairman of both the New Grady Coalition and GOG
(Georgians for Open Government). Both are non profit organizations,
of which the former is focused on patient care at Grady and all
public hospitals, while GOG is
raises awareness on open and transparent government.
Ron Marshall is a Certified and Registered residential & commercial
inspector
with the National Association of Home Inspectors, Housing Inspectors
Foundation, Association of Construction Inspectors, Certified
Construction
Inspector, Certified Construction Project Manager, ICC, National
Association of
Real Estate Appraisers & Mortgage Underwriter and a HUD Compliance
Inspector for the State of Georgia. Ron is also a 203K consultant
and has
partnered with Wells Fargo Bank to give more opportunities to home
buyers and
investors.
Heirs Orbiting Community Development Corp USA, Inc. is in
partnership with
Dekalb County, offering assistance with the Predatory Lending
Campaign "Don't Borrow
Trouble" , in a program with Freddie Mac to educate future home
owners
throughout the State of Georgia.
As a passionate advocate dedicated to improve quality of life for
DeKalb County citizens, Ron
has participated on County Subdivision, Code Enforcement,
Transportation,
Zoning and Building Code revision committees that write new housing
codes,
subdivision and zoning ordinance revisions. He advocates Development
of
Impact Fees.
He is consultant to the Fairway Green and Miller Oaks subdivision,
Former Head
Inspector for the City of Mountain Park, and a member of
neighborhood
coalitions, NAACP and the Community Council.

Gwen Marshall
Gwen Marshall was
born in San Francisco, California, and married Ronald Marshall in
1974. They have four children, and 8 grandchildren. In 1975 Gwen
joined the United States Air Force as an Environmental Health
Specialist, which required extensive study in the fields of Biology
and Environmental testing. Gwen was assigned to make sure that all
base services were in compliance, such as barber shops, restaurants,
cafeterias etc. After four years she left the Air Force, moved
back to California, and started school at San Francisco City
College, and went on to San Jose State University, majoring in
Biology. She was forced to quit after her youngest child became
sick with pneumonia, and went to work for the San Francisco Public
Health Department at the San Francisco City Clinic, a direct
affiliate to CDC as a case manager for communicable disease control.
When her father
became ill, she and her family moved back to San Francisco to care
for her father, and she went to work for Neiman Marcus. She became
a top sales person in the Men’s Suits and Fine Clothing Department,
and became quite familiar with well known celebrity customers such
as Danny Glover(longtime San Francisco resident), Whoopi Goldberg,
Eric Clapton, Brian Boitano, Bill Cosby, Ronnie Lott, Joe Montana,
and LaVar Burton (Roots). After her father passed away, she
encouraged her husband to open his own Construction Company and went
to work for him. After Ron was invited to Georgia to build a house
for a physician and his family in South Georgia, they decided to
relocate to the Stone Mountain area, where Gwen and Ron became equal
partners of RGM Management & Development. She serves as the Vice
President and COO, and is the company’s Mobilization Manager. RGM
is a full service Construction Services Company. RGM celebrates its
13th year, and has been published in the Blue Book every year since
1998 (The Blue Book is a top quality resource in the Construction
Industry). Gwen is co-founder and Executive Board member of 'Heirs
Orbiting' which is a 501 C(3) which does Homebuyer Education, and
covers various consumer issues. She and her Husband also own Metro
Air Emissions. Gwen has served as President of the Redan Swim Team
Booster Club, a position she held for five years consecutively, two
years of which her daughter were after her daughter had already
graduated. Gwen is a panel member for the DeKalb County Youth
Diversion Program serving on two panels, Power Team Member, and
DeKalb County Lead Group Chairman for the Metropolitan Black Chamber
of Commerce. She the Out-going President of the Rainbow
International Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association,
and the Incoming Vice President. Gwen has been nominated, and
published in the Who’s Who among Professionals for two consecutive
years, and will be included again in the 2006-2007 editions.
